By taking one tablet before each main meal, DAOfood Veg increases DAO levels in the small bowel, enhancing histamine degradation. This accelerates the breakdown of histamine from various foods, addressing the root cause of associated symptoms. Importantly, the DAO enzyme in DAOfood Veg functions exclusively in the intestine, with no systemic activity upon absorption, ensuring its safety and lack of adverse effects.

Histamine is present in all foods in the daily diet and is also produced naturally within the body. Certain foods are very rich in histamines and others encourage the release of the body's own histamine. If histamine is not fully processed in the gut, reactions can include inflammation, allergic reactions, gastric acid secretions, neurological issues and problems with immune function. Prime culprits include wine, cheese, salami, ham, tomatoes, vinegar and even certain fruits.

DAOfood Veg is suitable for diabetics, coeliacs and / or people with food intolerance. It contains no allergens, gluten, lactose or histamine. Each DAOfood Vegan mini tablet contains 0.3 mg of DiAmine Oxidase (DAO) of vegan origin, 100% natural extraction. Its structural and functional similarity to human DAO makes it highly effective.

Contains 60 mini tablets. Each mini-tablet has a gastro-resistant coating which delays the release of the DiAmine Oxidase enzyme until the tablet reaches the small intestine, where it performs its essential function in the body.

Directions For Use:

Take one tablet with a little water 20 minutes before a main meal (3 times a day). DAOfood Veg tablets have a gastro-resistant coating that allows the enzyme not to be released until the tablet reaches the small intestine, which is where it breaks down the histamine ingested in the diet. The tablets should be taken whole, without chewing, cutting or breaking.

Under normal conditions, ingested histamine is broken down by the enzyme DiAmine Oxidase (DAO) in the small intestine. If the metabolic activity of the DAO enzyme is reduced (due to genetic, pharmacological and / or pathological factors), the ingested histamine cannot be degraded and passes through the intestinal mucosa to the circulation, causing chronic symptoms  associated with DAO deficiency.

NB. To ensure that DAOfood Veg retains its effectiveness, store in the fridge, ideally between 2 and 8°C. The enzyme in DAOfood Veg can tolerate a few days in transit in all but the hottest temperatures, but for the longevity of the enzyme, always store in the fridge.
